There are so many credit card sign up bonuses, it can be hard to keep track. Some sign up bonuses are good for Airlines and others are great for hotels. Wouldn’t it be great to have all of your other travel expenses covered? Well, they easily can and I’m about to show you how.
The following credit card sign up bonuses combined, equals $1,700 toward anything travel related. Everybody can agree that saving $1,700 on a vacation is ideal. That extra savings can help you Travel More and Spend Less.
It isn’t recommended applying for all of these cards at once. Although, it is possible to apply for multiple cards and not negatively affect your credit score. I once got approved for four credit cards in one day and received over 250,000 in points and miles.
Before applying for credit cards, understand it is important to be responsible with your spending and pay your balance off each month. Credit cards should be looked at as a tool to earn the most amount of points and miles possible for extremely cheap travel.
The great part about these credit cards is they don’t have an annual fee the first year. In theory, you could book a cruise, assuming you could pay with multiple cards. The reward points can also be used for:
- Small flights between countries in Europe.
- Car rentals
- Budget or boutique hotels
- Airbnb
- Train rides
- Uber
- Hotel or airline gift cards (be sure to check if the gift card qualifies as a travel purchase.)
- And many more travel options
If you have a spouse or partner these rewards can double to $3,400 in free travel expenses!

Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card
Be careful when applying for any Capital One credit card. Although the early spend bonuses are decent, capital one hits your credit score hard. Each time you apply, Capital one does a hard pull from all three credit bureaus. A hard pull from one credit bureau results in a 3-5 point ding to your score. If hard pulled from all three credit bureaus, that is potentially 9-15 points off your score.
- Enjoy a one-time bonus of 20,000 miles once you spend $1,000 on purchases within 3 months from account opening, equal to $200 in travel
- Earn unlimited 1.25 miles per dollar on every purchase, every day and pay no annual fee
- Fly any airline, stay at any hotel, anytime
- Travel when you want with no blackout dates
- No foreign transaction fees
- Miles won’t expire for the life of the account and there’s no limit to how many you can earn
Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®
My wife and I have had this card a few times each. It is intuitive to use and easy to redeem points. The points must redeemed at 10,000 ($100) per travel expense. That means $20 taxi rides wouldn’t be covered. In the past, I have used 10,000 arrival miles to buy a $100 Marriott gift card to use at a hotel.
- Enjoy 40,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days – that’s enough to redeem for a $400 travel statement credit toward an eligible travel purchase
- Earn 2X miles on all purchases
- Get 5% miles back to use toward your next redemption, every time you redeem
- Miles don’t expire as long as your account is open, active and in good standing
- No foreign transaction fees on purchases made while traveling abroad
- $0 intro annual fee for the first year; $89 after that

Let me get this straight. In theory, I can apply for all of these cards and get $1,700 toward travel expenses? Like free money?
Ye I have had most of these cards. I used the points for car rentals and cheap hotel nights on some of my trips. Great job putting it all together.
This is some great information. I always love using credit cards to reap the benefits especially when it comes to travel. I like that you pointed out the ones whose points don’t expire!
